The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Greater Toronto Central Council is an incorporated charitable organization with a Board of Directors, Particular Council President’s Committee, Executive Director, Operating and Board Committees, 1,400 Vincentian members and 250 plus employees.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of passionate Vincentians and volunteers from the community who are elected to serve a 3-year term of office.

Interested individuals from diverse backgrounds are invited to apply. Elections are held each year at the September Annual General Meeting. We typically seek expertise in the following areas: Business Management, Public Affairs and Communications, Government and Funder Contracts and Compliance, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, FundRaising Engagement, Legal Expertise, Diversity, Human Resource Management, Construction and Project Management, Information Technology and Experience on a Not for profit Board experience.

The Greater Toronto Central Council operates within much of the Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto, encompassing parish-based Conferences from Oshawa to Mississauga, Toronto, Brampton, and York South.

This large area is divided into 11 Particular Councils, with each responsible for 6 – 16 Conferences within their area. Each Particular Council is guided by a Particular Council President and Executive.

The majority of our resources are dedicated to front line service in our Special Works.

Each Special Work is managed by a Program Director and front line staff. The organization is managed by Executive Director Louise Coutu, and our Director of Finance is Liza Gowe. Membership support and referrals are supported by Sarah Davidson and Andrew Wells.

Committees of the Board are an integral part of the governance model of the Greater Toronto Central Council, providing a focused connection between the Board of Directors, the Conferences and the Particular Councils, and the Special Work programs under its jurisdiction.
