This module, a short paper, outlines the Five Guiding Principles which undergird all the work of our Society, namely: Home Visitation, Equity of Service, Continuous Learning, Renewal, and Sharing.

 HOME VISITS

• PART 1: WHY ARE HOME VISITS SO CRITICAL TO THE CHARISM OF VINCENTIANS?
  This short video features a panel discussion among experienced Vincentians of different ages and from different parts of the GTA, explaining the importance of home visits to the work of the Society.
• PART 2: WHAT DOES A HOME VISIT LOOK LIKE?
  The discussion continues in this second video, as the panel describes concretely and practically what is involved in home visitation, to help prepare new Vincentians for their first visits.
• PART 3: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE COMMON CHALLENGES FACED BY VINCENTIANS DURING HOME VISITS?
  In this third video of our panel discussion with Vincentian leaders, the group discusses some of the very common challenges that are faced by Vincentians during home visits. The aim is to prepare new Vincentians for some of the unique situations they might encounter during their visits.
• SERVING OUR NEIGHBOURS AS A CHRISTIAN: HOW DOES OUR FAITH GUIDE OUR WORK WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE?
  In this final video, the Vincentians in our panel discuss the role of faith in our work. What makes the Society’s mission and outreach Christian? How does our faith inform the way we relate to and support our neighbours in need? Spirituality is at the heart of Vincentian life, and this video shares the roots of that connection.
