 Home Marygrove Camp for Girls

Marygrove Camp

Marygrove Camp is a residential camp situated on Georgian Bay , near Penetang , Ontario . Open to eligible girls ages 5 – 13, Marygrove provides an 8 day camping experience for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy a camping adventure.  Families who are experiencing financial or domestic hardship may contact the Society to determine their eligibility.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Toronto Central Council, helps over 1,000 girls each summer, registering eligible campers through home visits.  Each camper’s holiday is fully subsidized through the generous support of an annual Camp Collection held in the parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto.

What’s it like up there?

Picture 39 acres of beautifully treed grounds, a quarter mile of waterfront, with sandy beaches and a football size playing field.  Now picture yourself enjoying nothing but fresh air, good friends and the great outdoors and you have just captured the wonder of Marygrove Camp.

Campers participate in a full range of activities, including swimming, canoeing, crafts, drama, sports, co-operative games, cook-outs, sleepovers, hikes, star gazing and camp fires.  Our location on Georgian Bay provides excellent opportunities for swimming in a shallow, supervised swimming area.  Each session celebrates a special theme (please scroll below for the sessions and themes) recognizing our favorite seasons and events throughout the year.

Opportunities for children and youth:

Interested in making a difference in a young person’s life?  Consider applying for a position on staff.  Young women who are dedicated to working with children, especially in an outdoor setting, can apply for positions including:

Camp Counselors

Counselors-in-training

Kitchen Staff

Counselors/Program Staff

Many members of our staff team have moved on to become teachers, social workers, doctors and nurses.  They credit Marygrove with providing a “ton of life experience”.  If you or someone you know loves children, enjoys the outdoors, and enjoys working in a team environment – give us a call!

Do you know a child who could benefit from this type of experience?
